Perfect for kids
- Bullet Heroes is a new side-scrolling shooter
- It's out now in soft-launch for iOS in the United States
- Smash blocks, earn extra bullets and keep on going
I do find it's rare that we see one of the more basic new releases pop up on our radar. But as you might guess not every game is a AAA, Unreal Engine-fuelled romp through time and space. Fortunately, Bullet Heroes! looks to be the perfect little game for younger players.
Admittedly I do find it a bit odd that something like this is so cutesy, given the subject matter, but hey, what do I know? Bullet Heroes is in soft launch for iOS in the US and sees you playing as one of a team of elite snipers gunning down cartoonish villains in your quest to save a city.
There are also what seems to be additional block-breaking minigames to let you refill your ammo, as well as the occasional unique item to add onto your elite if slightly chibi soldier. As far as shooters go it's as colorful and inoffensive as they come.
Shooting to success(?)
While I'm sure not everyone shares my opinion, I'm sure a more positive view of games like Bullet Heroes wouldn't focus on the less-than-stellar graphics, but on the fact this seems to be another one-person developed game. And as much as lower-end titles may take up the rank and file of mobile, it does show there's an opportunity for everyone to get their game out there and hopefully get it seen.
But in the meantime if you're looking for looking for shooters with a bit more oomph, why not check out our list of the top 7 mobile games like Call of Duty to find some mobile-ready run 'n' gun releases?
