All Sniper Elite Games, Ranked

Captured in the events of the World War, this outstanding series has imprinted its name on the hearts of many sniping-based action fans. The titles are tactical shooter matches, played from a third-person perspective. They follow the narrative of a German-American Office of Strategic Services operative named Karl Fairburne as he engages in different battles in World War II. Its first instalment debuted in 2005. Since then, the franchise has spun and expanded the main story, creating many amazing titles. In this piece, we discuss and rank the Sniper Elite games captured in this series.

10. Sniper Elite

In the war between the Germans and the Soviets, a player embodies an American OSS sniper. The protagonist is posing as a German soldier working deep behind enemy lines. His main task is to help stop Stalin’s forces from taking over Germany’s nuclear secrets. Players perform sniping in first-person scope view during gameplay. However, movement and use of weapons are employed from a third-person perspective. The title features a vast array of weapons, including rifles, a silenced pistol, and submachine guns. However, as the first game from 18 years ago, the graphics are a bit low compared to the updated versions.

9. Sniper Elite III

The title is the sequel to V2 and the third installment in the Sniper Elite games series. It takes place around three years before the events of V2. In this title, Karl is knee-deep in the North African conflict. He is trying to destroy a renegade Nazi commander and stop him from developing a deadly new weapon. Players immerse themselves in a vast battlefield map featuring locations from the North African theatre of World War II. Armed with a rifle, players dive into the dangerous fields, ready to fulfil their mission. 

8. Sniper Elite V2

The match takes place in the same period and location as its prequel. However, it contains alterations in the narrative. Fairburne is on a mission to eradicate a group of scientists taking part in the German V-2 rocket program. The match focuses on a less direct approach to combat. Instead, it prompts you to employ stealth and keep a distance from enemy soldiers. In battle, you use weapons featured back in the World War era. Nevertheless, the sniper rifle is still your primary weapon.

7. Sniper Elite VR: Winter Warrior

Players embody the role of The Partisan in this match. Essentially, you are an Italian resistance soldier during World War II on a mission to banish the Nazi forces from your homeland. As you dive deeper into the gameplay, you uncover new Nazi weapons that you must destroy. It incorporates a feature called Sniper Hunt where you battle against expert Nazi snipers. To win, players must lure out snipers by taking out the patrol soldiers. Furthermore, VR significantly elevates gunplay in the game, making the matches more immersive.

6. Sniper Elite V2 Remastered

Set in the ruins of Berlin, the title takes place in the events following the end of WW2. Karl embarks on a new mission to stop the Red Army from acquiring the Nazi V2 rocket technology. In the Germans' final stand, you parachute into Berlin and help a group of scientists defeat the US. On your journey, you must vanquish anyone who stands in your way. To succeed, players must employ stealth, strategy, and master the use of weapons.

5. Sniper Elite: Resistance

In Sniper Elite: Resistance, a player journeys deep within the confines of France where they engage in a hidden mission. Players control the protagonist on a task to destroy the plans of the infamous Reich. They have multiple weapons at their disposal that are all authentic to ones used during WW2. Players select and customize their preferred weapons to suit their playstyle. Further, they can upgrade these weapons in workbenches found all over the game’s campaign. Players need clever strategies to stand a chance at succeeding in this gameplay.

4. Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army

This is a unique title of the Sniper Elite games. The developers released this game as a stand-alone title after V2. It occurs during the final days of World War II, with the German army close to defeat. As a last attempt to win the war, Adolf Hitler raises an army of the dead through occult rituals, creating an army of zombies. He turns this army against the Allied forces, resulting in the zombies dominating Germany. Nazi Zombie Army features both single and multiplayer game modes, unlike its predecessors. Also, it contains missions with set objectives that require you to battle through different levels with many types of zombies.

3. Sniper Elite 5

In 1944, Fairburne joins the Army Ranger battalion in advance of Operation Overlord. Fairburne is part of the Army Ranger battalion in advance of Operation Overlord. He is tasked with helping to secure a beachhead and the village of Colline-Sur-Mer to provide the Americans with a landing point in France. Like other titles in the series, it features levels where you have the opportunity to infiltrate a premise and extract what you require. Sniper Elite 5 players can greatly customize weapons featured in the game to fit their playstyle. The game features both single and multiplayer game modes. 

2. Sniper Elite VR

As an elite sniper in the Italian resistance, players navigate an open land, eradicating enemy targets from a far range. Its gameplay is similar to other titles enlisted in the series. However, the VR feature makes the battle feel more realistic. One can take out Nazi soldiers using weapons that they find along the way. Players have the option of maintaining stealth or engaging in open combat. Additionally, they can use sniper rifles in VR as melee weapons to silently kill opponents. The match also includes save points, allowing players to respawn after being killed.

Embark on a dangerous mission across the breathtaking Italian peninsula as part of the Italian Resistance. A new threat that wants to stop the Allied fightback in Europe before it begins. The game features many levels with hundreds of enemies and important Nazi officers to assassinate. Additionally, players have more freedom to enjoy a vast, open-ended gameplay experience, as the title contains significantly large maps. Further, the playthrough includes night missions where you can remove light sources to hide their presence.
