Marvel Rivals features an impressive roster of 33 heroes. They include some of the biggest names in the Marvel universe. Notable heroes include Captain America, Hulk, Venom, Thor, Spider-Man, and Iron Man. It also features a few lesser-known heroes like Jeff the Land Shark and Squirrel Girl.

The game is multiplayer, and while every hero brings something to the table, some are more powerful and reliable than others. Knowing which heroes are better than the rest and understanding what makes them stand out is the first step to forming an unbeatable team. Here is an overview of the ten best heroes in Marvel Rivals, ranked based on their powers and abilities.

10. Namor

Namor’s ultimate ability leaps into enemy teams and deals 500 and 200 damage points in the inner and outer circles, respectively. His ultimate ability also helps break up enemy teams’ defenses, creating openings for other heroes to attack. His octopus turrets also make him a reliable defender, as they deal significant damage and help take up enemies’ resources. While the turrets have a relatively low firing rate, you can send them into a frenzy by using his Seven Seas ability to hit enemies. Frenzied turrets have better accuracy and higher damage output.

9. Winter Soldier

Winter Soldier is excellent at close-range combat. For example, his Bionic Hook pulls enemies closer, while his Trooper’s Fist punches enemies off their feet. However, he also has a ranged weapon that makes him good at long-range combat. For example, he can use his gun to shoot at enemies and his Tainted Voltage ability to blast enemies. Winter Soldier also boasts one of the best ultimate abilities, which has two effects. First, it deals considerable damage to all enemies within range. Second, it marks enemies and causes them to die when their health drops to certain levels.

8. Wolverine

Wolverine is one of the hardest heroes to kill for two reasons. First, he has one of the best HPs of all duelists in Marvel Rivals, making him durable on the battlefield. Second, he moves fast and attacks quickly, making him difficult to target. His high mobility also makes him effective at reaching specific targets with ease. Moreover, Wolverine causes considerable damage. Moreover, he gets tankier with every successful hit, which progressively increases his damage output. Notably, Wolverine’s playstyle is closely similar to Iron Fist’s playstyle.

7. Iron Man

Iron Man can fly and has an impressive arsenal of high-tech weapons, which enables him to unleash devastating aerial attacks. He is efficient at long-range combat. He can target crowds using micro-missiles, which deal significant AoE damage. Moreover, he can use Unibeam to target individual enemies. Pairing Iron Man with Hulk turns his armor overdrive into gamma overdrive, increasing damage output by 20%. Additionally, his ultimate, Invincible Pulse Cannon, has the highest damage output of all abilities in the game. However, Iron Man is a slow flier and requires vertical cover. 

6. Spider-Man

Spider-Man is a potent assassin in the right hands. However, he can be difficult to master, especially considering that his best attacks are combos. His most efficient attack involves a three-step combo. He first uses Web-Cluster to attach a tracer to an enemy. He then reels the enemy in using Get Over Here! Finally, he takes them out using the Amazing Combo, followed up by a few punches. Notably, a full combo completely takes out an enemy. His ultimate ability deals considerable damage to all enemies within range, killing some and leaving survivors stunned.

5. Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange is one of the best heroes for defense and mobility. His Shield of Seraphim covers a large enough hitbox to accommodate all teammates. It also absorbs lots of impact and regenerates quickly. Moreover, he can position the team anywhere on the map by opening portals using Pentagram or Farallah. The Doctor’s ultimate ability, Eye of Agamotto, essentially turns enemies into sitting ducks. It projects their souls out of their bodies, rendering them unable to move or fight for three seconds. Damage dealt to the enemies’ souls during those three brief seconds reflects on their physical forms.

4. Cloak & Dagger

Cloak & Dagger are essentially two heroes in one. Each persona has unique skills, abilities, and playstyles. Cloak’s playstyle focuses on offense, while Dagger’s playstyle focuses on defense and healing. Dagger can use Dagger Storm to create an impenetrable sphere that provides her teammates with cover and restores their health over time. She can also generate a massive burst of healing using her Veil of Lightforce. Cloak’s best abilities include Terror Cape, which temporarily blinds enemies and makes them vulnerable to attacks.

3. Venom

Venom is one of the most formidable tanks in the game and one of the best Vanguard heroes. He moves quickly and can take a lot of damage, which makes him an efficient distraction. He boasts 800 base health and a shield that gives him 900 temporary HP, which makes him incredibly difficult to take down. Moreover, he can easily move in and out of enemies’ backlines. While he doesn’t deal as much damage as other comparable heroes, combining his main attacks and cellular corrosion ability causes considerable damage.

2. The Punisher

The Punisher has an impressive arsenal that packs a lot of firepower. It comprises a versatile assault rifle ideal for long-range gunplay and a powerful shotgun ideal for close-range gunplay. He also has a deployable turret to supplement his firepower. Other gadgets include smoke grenades for cover and a zipline for faster, easier mobility. Notably, you can boost his firepower by pairing him with Rocket Racoon. Racoon’s Team-Up Ammo Overload Device gives him infinite ammo and increases his firing rate by 67%.

1. Magneto

Magneto is one of the best heroes for boosting your team’s defenses. His metallic curtain is so powerful that it can block certain incoming projectile ultimate abilities. Additionally, he can form bubble shields around himself and his teammates. Besides defending, Magneto can also deal considerable damage in mid-range combat by firing his powerful projectiles. His ultimate ability also simultaneously helps with offense and defense. He flies into the air and throws a large meteor at enemies, causing considerable damage. Moreover, the meteor has a magnetic effect that absorbs and redirects enemies’ projectiles.
