Xbox Is Adding Three Huge Playtests This Week Via The Free 'Insider Hub'

It's been revealed that the Xbox Insider Hub is getting three playtests this week, with the first being for the monster success that is Baldur's Gate 3, and the other two being for a couple of upcoming 2025 Xbox releases.

In the case of Baldur's Gate 3, this is a stress test for Patch 8, which means you'll need to own the game already in order to take advantage. Assuming that's the case, you can check out loads of cool features ahead of time including crossplay with other platforms, Photo Mode, new subclasses and a whole bunch of other things.

In fact, this will even mark the debut of split-screen for Baldur's Gate 3 on Xbox Series S!

Here's how to download the Baldur's Gate 3 stress test via the Xbox Insider Hub (when it shows up later today):

1. Open (or install) the Xbox Insider Hub on Xbox Series X|S
2. Go to "Previews" and then "Baldur's Gate 3"
3. Hit the "Join" button
4. Install the Patch 8 Stress Test when you're redirected to the Microsoft Store

Keep in mind that the stress test is accessible via a totally different version of Baldur's Gate 3, which means you'll need to re-download it via the specific Microsoft Store page. Here are some more details about this:

To return to the Patch 7 version of Baldur’s Gate 3, you will need to exit the Stress Test version via the Xbox Insider Hub. This will prompt an update and will revert your game to the previous version. Please bear in mind that any saves made within the stress test will not be compatible with the Patch 7 version once you revert back.
