Here's what you can expect...

The big surprise of last week (apart from Ninja Gaiden 4) was the shadow drop of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black. Team Ninja has announced the first patch (Version 1.0.6.0) has today gone live, but there's also another interesting update.

Apart from a patch for the Microsoft Store version of the game "to fix the issue where super-resolution" can't be selected, there's also apparently a "mid-February" patch on the way that will include some balance adjustments and additional features:

Team Ninja: "Based on the feedback received, we are preparing a patch aimed for release in mid-February with some balance adjustments and additional features."

Nothing has been elaborated on just yet, so we'll let you know when we hear more. For now, here are the latest patch notes for today's patch from the developer's website. We had a quick look at this update ourselves, and it's a small one at around 1.7GB on Xbox Series X.

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black - Version 1.0.6.0 (January 29, 2025)

- Fixed an issue where the options for DLSS and XeSS would not appear when selecting super resolution type on the Microsoft Store version of the game.

- Fixed an issue that in rare cases made it impossible to progress after defeating certain bosses.

If you haven't already given this latest version of Ninja Gaiden 2 a go, you can purchase it from the Microsoft Store or download it on Xbox Game Pass. As for the fourth entry, it's targeting a Fall 2025 release and has apparently been in the pipeline for quite some time now.
