Wings of Heroes has added a new competitive feature which promises to elevate the WW2 strategy game’s dogfighting, bombing, and ground strafing thrills to even greater heights.
In the two years since its release, Ten Square Games has meticulously refined the gameplay of Wings of Heroes, crafting one of the most immersive and exhilarating WW2 aerial combat experiences on mobile. From agile fighters like the Spitfire, Zero, and Messerschmitt, to diverse bombers like the Junkers-Ju and Dornier Do 17, every iconic plane from the second world war is available for you to unlock, upgrade, and master.
Now, with the introduction of the “Squadron Wars” update, the game’s developer has turned its attention to strengthening the Wings of Heroes’ community and harnessing the potential for competitive rivalries.
Squadrons can now compete directly against each other, with the results of these engagements determining their rank and success on the game's new seasonal War Ladder. The intention behind the revamp is to “shift the nature and purpose of teamwork and introduce a strong element of competition where strategic thinking and loyalty to the squadron gain importance” according to Micha? Szurma, Product Owner of Wings of Heroes.
Players can also earn individual recognition by scoring highly on the new Heroes Leaderboard, which rewards heroic actions during battle. Additionally, a revamped league system featuring League Coins, which replaces the former Fame Points. You can also spend this new currency in the new League Shop to purchase exclusive, seasonal items, including four specially themed liveries that capture the spirit of October.
If you’d like to experience the excitement of leading a WW2 aircraft into battle from the palm of your hand then Wings of Heroes is one to add to your “to play” list.
