Marvel Rivals is quickly approaching Season 1, and a slew of new content to delve into is coming along with it. There are some things to note if you’re still actively playing so you won’t miss out or be blindsided.
So, here’s everything you’ll need to know regarding the current season’s status, when it’ll end, and more.
When does Marvel Rivals Season 0 (the current season) end?
Marvel Rivals Season 0 (the pre-season), Chronovium, will end on January 9, 2025, at 10 PM PST (1 AM EST). The time will vary depending on your location. This means you only have a week left to complete your Battle Pass and any other missions tied to it.
Fortunately, if you own the Luxury version (just another word for Premium), you can complete it after the current season ends. The only downside is that all Chrono Tokens (the purple currency) you earned this season will not roll over to the next.
Do not worry about Units or Lattice; those will be safe in between seasons. You do not have to spend or lose them as we enter a new season. It’s just the Chrono Tokens you need to worry about and earn from scratch.
When does Marvel Rivals Season 1 start?
Marvel Rivals Season 1 should start on January 10, just hours after the pre-season (Season 0) ends.
Between the end of the pre-season and the launch of the new season, expect some downtime as the new update is deployed. What that will entail is as follows.
What to expect in Season 1 of Marvel Rivals
So far, we can expect new characters, a new stage or few, possible new modes, balance changes, and obviously a new Battle Pass.
To start, the biggest addition we’re getting in Marvel Rivals is the Fantastic Four. That’s right. We’re getting Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing. Whether they will all be deployed at the same time is to be determined.
This means that there are four additional characters, so it might be possible we’re getting them throughout the season to keep incentivizing players to come back. Note that with new character releases in these types of games, they’re going to be picked so fast.
Next, in the teaser we got regarding the Fantastic Four, it seems like we’re getting at least one new stage added to the mix. Whether it will be played in an existing game format or a new one will be determined during the trailer coming out later in January.
It’s also important to know that with a major balance change like this, we’re more likely going to see a shakeup of the current meta in the game. Characters will most likely see some significant buffs or nerfs, depending on how good or weak they have been performing. The tryhards are definitely going to be glued to this.
And lastly, the Battle Pass. What the next season will entail will be fun and most likely revolve around the newly added heroes. The theme is still up in the air, but when a new character drops in a game like this, Battle Passes usually are themed around or cater to the latest content.
