$1.50 doesn’t usually get you much these days. However, through Nov. 26 you can pick up a copy of Warhammer: Vermintide 2 on Steam for that measly amount. While some players have moved on to its sequel Darktide, 2018’s Vermintide 2 is still a phenomenal game, with horde-based, hack-and-slash gameplay — and it’s still getting updates. In fact, one of its biggest updates yet launched on Nov. 13, introducing an asymmetrical PvP+E mode that pits four heroes against four player-controlled Pactsworn enemies aided by the endless AI-powered Skaven Horde.
While this new game mode is accessible to anyone who already owns the base game, Fatshark is also offering a rare 50% discount on all of Vermintide 2’s post-launch DLC if you’d like to purchase additional content or cosmetics.
While Vermintide 2 undeniably owes a lot to Valve’s Left 4 Dead franchise, its dedicated player base and regular updates from the developer have allowed it to grow into a frenzied, co-op title with its own identity. If you want some of the weightiest, most brutal first-person melee combat outside of The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, you should give Vermintide 2 a shot. Hell, in the small chance you don’t like it, at least you’re only out $1.50.
