Fancy a universe or two?

Universe For Sale stars sapient orangutans, fleshless cultists, and a woman who weaves universes with her hands, coming soon
  • Gorgeous hand-drawn visuals
  • Interesting premise and world-building
  • Coming to mobile December 19th

Akupara Games and Tmesis Studio have announced the upcoming launch of Universe For Sale, which, from the title alone, is already incredibly intriguing to me.

It's exactly as it says on the tin - there's a woman in a bazaar (in Jupiter's mining colony, no less) who's weaving universes from the palm of her hand. As you immerse yourself in this weird and wonderful world, things will start to unravel - whether that's about the sapient orangutans roaming the docks or the cultists who strip their flesh in exchange for enlightenment.

Does that pique your interest? I would assume so, as Universe For Sale also offers one of the most appealing art styles I've seen in a while. There's something about the hand-drawn visuals that evoke some form of nostalgia, and it does seem like the animation is being used as a tool to tell an emotional story here too.

Suffice it to say that the premise alone has already got me eager for its official release, which won't be long now as it's scheduled to launch on mobile and on consoles on December 19th.

That's not too far off from today, but for now, are you on the hunt for similar vibes to help tide you over until then? Why not take a look at our list of the best narrative adventures to get your fill?

In the meantime, if you're keen on joining in on all the fun, you can do so by checking out Universe For Sale on its official Steam page.
