Infinite's sixth season, The Frozen Canvas, will arrive next month
  • Torchlight: Infinite's sixth season arrives on October 25th
  • It's called The Frozen Canvas and will introduce new character, Selena
  • XD Games also say it brings a new way to play

XD Games has unveiled some details for Torchlight: Infinite's sixth season. It's called The Frozen Canvas and will begin on October 25th. From that name, you already know to expect snow-covered areas and the temperature dipping below what's comfortable for most people. Not me, though. I'm always hoping for a year-round chill. It makes being inside much cosier.

Anyway, that's enough of me complaining about temperatures above 7 degrees Celsius. We're here to discuss Torchlight: Infinite. According to XD, Season Six will introduce an entirely new way to play, asking players to put down their weapons and pick up a paintbrush instead. That's all they've said about that for now, but it certainly has me intrigued.

Alongside that, a new hero is on the way. Her name is Selena, a Wide Whisperer and musician capable of switching between two forms. Each is powerful in its own right, but it sounds like flitting from one to the other might be the optimal way to get the best out of her. As for exactly what her abilities are, I'm not too sure yet.

You'll have noticed there's a good amount of vagueness in this article so far, and that's because this announcement is merely a tease, something to whet the appetite. On October 11th at 7 am PDT, XD will host a livestream that will run through all the finer details of the new season. So, tune in to either Twitch or YouTube on that day if you're eager to learn more.

Since its launch last year, Infinite hasn't been short of updates, regularly introducing new content to keep things fresh and interesting. And it was good to start with, as Will explains in his Torchlight: Infinite review. So give that a read if you're yet to dive in.

Torchlight: Infinite is available now on the App Store and Google Play as a free-to-play game with in-app purchases. You can download it for your preferred platform using the buttons below.
