Hey there, welcome to our latest edition of The Wrapp.
This is a chance for you to see what the various members of the Pocket Gamer team are planning to play over this weekend and will, hopefully, give you an idea of some of the weird and wonderful things we get up to when we’re not keeping you up to speed with the latest news and tips. Heck, you might even find a new game to play.

More Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket for me, as I’ve completed all the Genetic Apex Emblem Event badges since my last Wrapp! The next quest on my agenda this weekend will be trying to complete the Genetic Apex deck, as I’m currently at 178 out of 226. The ever-elusive Mew also seems to be unlockable, but is it even possible to collect all the Kanto Pokemon before the next big expansion? Only time (and the RNG gods) will tell - I’m also going to try and see if all the pack-opening urban legends (more about this on our podcast!) are true.
In the meantime, getting the shiny new badges is still a small cause for celebration given my rubbish skills, so I’m going to go grab myself some congratulatory milk tea as a self-pat on the back.

Writing this, I am exhausted this week! I feel this weekend I am not going to go too hard on Pokemon Go, as next week we are running an event every single evening, all in the lead up to a massive weekend event. Pokemon Go has a grip on me!
I am still chugging along in Neopets: Faerie Fragments, now on level 245. I am looking forward to the end of this, once I have all the in-game items. The levels themselves are extremely challenging at this point, but I am getting daily rewards so that does help. I think otherwise I have a bunch of random tasks to do this weekend to get the house ready for Christmas, and that’s going to be my main goal.

I reviewed Wuthering Waves this week, and as a result, I am now absolutely hooked. It is an absolutely fantastic game and I have been unable to put it down. So most of my weekend shall be spent in front of the Supernatural boxset playing that. You know, around the boring real-life stuff of walking for exercise and eating.
Beyond this, I have joined the masses and built the meta Mewtwo EX deck in Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket. Yes, I am now one of THOSE players. I might try a few battles with this, though the thought of dueling random people fills me with a lot of nerves, which is strange seeing as I love the FFXIV PvP and that's a hoard of strangers stabbing each other. The human mind do be strange.
After an absolute nightmare of a weekend, I actually ended up not playing very much Vampire Survivors. Which is a shame because there’s still a whole lot to uncover, so I may be dipping back into that at some point. However, either way I’m also on such a Warhammer 40,000 kick that I may be jumping back into Warpforge too, especially given they only recently added my favorite faction; the Imperial Guard (not calling them the Astra Militarum).

Last weekend made me want to play Teamfight Tactics even more. Why? Because the new season of Arcane just released on Netflix.
If you played the game before, you probably know. With the release of the new Arcane-themed set, I will give PBE a chance (after seeing all the crazy new comps players made on YouTube, I got some ideas I’d like to try out). Sadly I have not managed to reach Challenger yet in the current set, but I am fairly close.
Other than the TFT plans, I would like to play some Storyteller. You know, the game where you make up insanely funny stories, and try to reach the goals - and the hidden ones. I’ve played it once before, but it always makes me want to go back for more.
If I have time (and mood) I would like to play some Strange Horticulture too. This is a puzzle game with occult elements, and I’m all for that. I bought it some time ago, but I haven’t really had time to give it a try. Big plans, but let’s hope we can fit them all within one weekend.

The quest for the perfect game continues but after spending time playing the Diablo x Warcraft collab, I'm returning to questioning what's the best way to showcase a game thing you're working on. This was a preview build, but I have no idea whether that was just what they were calling it or if it wasn't the finished version that was released. For the experience, we got a selection of pre-made overpowered characters to plow through things, but I don't know if that was the best way to show it off.
For my main quest, I'm not sure if I should be narrowing down the genres to try out or if I should commit to the idea that one genre is most likely to have the best game. I mean, I know what my pre-dispositions are, so this can be difficult. However, I also know I spent two evenings in a row blazing through a game about vampires and therapy, so I guess I'm open to anything potentially being the best.

Since I was sick for like a week, I played a lot of MU Dark Epoch and I’m kind of high level there, so let's say it is my main game these days and I’m certainly going to play some more over the weekend.
Also, I used to be high rank in Marvel Snap, which I started during season 1 and I’m thinking of checking it out again as they’ve added a lot of new locations and some other stuff lately which I find interesting.
Heroes of Crown: Legends is another game that I invested a lot of time into. I kinda quit like two months ago, but they've added some new stuff that I want to check out.
Lastly, If I have time, I'll try to grind for some gears in Throne & Liberty, but it's not a priority. I like the game but it's too grindy and I'm not really up for it.

I can't believe quite how much Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket has taken over so many different parts of my life; even far beyond the team here.
Much like Catherine I'll be trying to finish off my deck, it was at 172/226 last week and I'm up to 193/236 now. The end is in sight.
I've managed to stave off the impulse to start collecting the actual physical cards by convincing myself that two free packs a day as well as the Wonder Pick system (have I said that I think the icon that shows you've already got a card in Wonder Picks is very welcome now that I've spotted it?) are fantastic positives that keep the cost down... it also can't be understated that there only being one expansion in there means there's no tricky meta to worry about.
I'm currently running a Pikachu EX deck that's been tweaked to be able to hit MewTwo decks as hard as it does the tricky Lapras ones, however, while its serving me well, I have started to see fighting decks, and there's also the issue that Zapdos (you know, the big lightning bird) is weak against its own type.
Seems like an evolutionary failing if you ask me.
