Would bathtime really be the same without rubber ducks? These cutesy floating critters have been gracing bathtubs around the world since time immemorial. But what happens when the chips are down and action is needed? Well in real life we probably wouldn't recommend it, but in Rubber Duck: Idle Squad Game you turn to this feathered anatidae!
Rubber Duck: Idle Squad Game is an intriguing mix of squad-based auto battler and bullet heaven. You'll assemble a squad of diverse rubber duckies with different themes and abilities, before pitting them against waves of enemies and bosses to destroy.
While nobody will dub Rubber Duck a groundbreaking new step in the field of interactive media, what it does offer is quite well done. Cutesy graphics, approachable gameplay and a genuinely fun little twist on a genre that, speaking personally, I feel has been done to death lately. Rubber Duck: Idle Squad Game is out now on iOS and Android!
Duck, you sucker
Yes like I said this isn't exactly groundbreaking and has probably been done before. But Rubber Duck: Idle Squad Game, to me, looks to be a genuinely decent entry in the genre with plenty to offer. I think the mixing of auto-battler and bullet heaven game is a fun one, and it means that there's plenty of action on-screen that you don't usually get beyond tapping to activate ultimates in the former genre. Whether or not it'll be able to distinguish itself outside of that though, will be up to how Rubber Duck does when it gets into your hands.
