Your favourite fighters are back
- Pre-registrations are currently open on the App Store and Google Play
- Several rewards up for grabs including 3,000 summon chances
- Expected release date is early next year
After a brief announcement at the Tokyo Game Show last month, Netmarble has finally opened pre-registrations for the next project, The King of Fighters AFK, on Android and iOS. We’ve had numerous KOF games in the past, but this one is different as it brings a fresh twist in the form of idle gameplay - something that hasn’t been seen yet.
Pre-registering for The King of Fighters AFK doesn’t just grant you early access - it also opens the door to a myriad of rewards. If you pre-register, you stand to earn up to 3,000 summon chances, giving you ample opportunity to unlock iconic fighters and special rewards, including Vice, a character infused with Orochi’s power. The chance to kick off with fighters like Iori and Leona means you’ll have quite the headstart while others struggle to build their team.
Given that the upcoming KOF is an AFK RPG, it means that progression will be fast-paced, and your characters will continue to level up even while you're away. The genre is becoming popular by the day as it does away with all the grinding required by RPGs, allowing you to focus on the entertaining bits. Add to that all the special events, which means you’ll always be stocked with the best items.
While you wait, check out this list of the best fighting games to play on iOS!
Each character in KOF AFK will make you feel nostalgic as they’ve been designed in a pixel-art style inspired by The King of Fighters R-2 on the Neo Geo Pocket Colour. The combat system remains centred around dynamic 5v5 battles. You will create decks for each battle, combining different fighters and formations to come up with the best strategy.
If you're interested, you can pre-register for The King of Fighters AFK by clicking on your preferred link below. While we don’t have an official release date in sight, the App Store lists an expected one to be January 27th, 2025. You can stay updated by visiting the official website.
