A new way to appreciate poetry
- Collect letters to form poems
- Intuitive platforming controls
- Meditative background music
Solo indie developer Tony Dong has officially launched Scattered Verse on iOS, offering a visually stunning word-crafting adventure on mobile. The meditative experience features an intriguing mix of poetry and wordplay set across a portrait-oriented platformer, with over 30 levels to take on and classic poems to discover.
In Scattered Verse, you can look forward to having a relaxing score serenade you in the background as you drag to move across a gorgeous dreamlike world. Collect letters scattered throughout the levels to form words, with masterpieces from popular wordsmiths such as Robert Frost, Emily Dickinson and Rumi.
The Philadelphia-based dev is a former elementary school teacher, and Scattered Verse has already garnered positive feedback on the App Store - it even rose up the ranks to the #9 spot in paid word games.
New launches in the genre can be a dime a dozen these days, especially with the smashing success of Wordle and its many look-alikes. It does, however, take a special kind of sauce for something to stand out, and Scattered Verse does seem like it's found its flavour.
