Flap those wings
- Reviver is out now for mobile on iOS and Android
- You can nab it for a limited-time discount too
- It sees you solving narrative puzzles to bring together star-crossed lovers
If you've gotten a bit tired of hearing about the upcoming narrative point-and-click puzzler Reviver, then you can relax! Because this intriguing little release is finally out on iOS and Android. The best part? If you've caught the bug (or butterfly in this case) and want to try it, you can also benefit from a limited-time discount for it on your app store of choice.
If you somehow missed our previous coverage, here's the skinny. Reviver is a narrative puzzler where your goal is to bring together two star-crossed lovers pulled apart by time. You'll shift between different rooms, and time itself, to solve puzzles and bring them together.
The kicker? You only ever see the world from the individual character's perspectives in a tiny space of only seven individual rooms. The story of Reviver is revealed slowly through your interaction with different objects. As time changes, so do these objects, with journal entries and more being filled in. Alter time and solve puzzles and these objects will change accordingly.
Simply put
Yes, it sounds a bit confusing at first blush but once you get your head around it, the idea of Reviver is quite intriguing. It's obviously putting a spin on the idea of the butterfly effect, or that small changes in the past can drastically affect the future. And for something that's aiming to provide a wholesome, heartwarming narrative I can scarcely think of a better angle to approach it from.
