- What's on the line for the 16 competing teams? The lion's share of up to INR 1 crore prize pool!
When it comes to mobile esports, PUBG Mobile has been getting major investment. You only need to look as far as Krafton's own PUBG Mobile Global Open, with the massive $500k prize pool on the line. But it's not just them hosting as the Snapdragon Pro BGMI Mobile Challenge is wrapping its sixth season with a grand finale in India through to next month!
From January 31st to February 2nd, at the Noida Indoor Stadium in India, some of the top players in the country will compete across 16 teams during the three-day mobile challenge finals. What's on the line? Nothing short of the lion's share of up to INR 1 crore prize pool, that's what! Not to mention the title of Snapdragon Pro Series BGMI Mobile Challenge Season 6 champions.
This tournament has seen a major response in the Indian esports scene, with over 300 registrations for the qualifiers and a huge amount of community engagement.
More to India?
India is a country with a massive mobile scene, but attention is split over many major releases. While domestic developers like SuperGaming and their projects such as Indus aim to capture players with a Made in India selling point, this latest event shows that overseas imports remain hugely popular.
It's also an indicator of just how important India is from an esports perspective, as Krafton have continued to make major investments in getting their hit battle royale release in front of eyeballs with major tournaments. That's not even mentioning their reported $10m investment in growing grassroots esports interest either.
Still, it's not as if PUBG Mobile is short on competition when it comes to shoot 'em ups on handheld! Why not check out our list of the top 25 best shooters on Android to see what kind of competitors they have to contend with?
