- Rec Room will debut on the Switch on November 6th
- It has previously released on, well, pretty much everything
- Pre-registering ahead of release will net you an in-game reward
Rec Room, the popular user-generated content game, will release for the Nintendo Switch on November 6th. The arrival on the console will mean it's available on pretty much anything you can think of. Rec Room themselves have the figure at 10 platforms, but they are making a distinction between different types of VR and variants of PC. But we don't need to be overly pedantic. Okay, maybe I was.
Anyway, you can pre-register your interest on the fancy page Rec Room has created. If you're happy to pop your email address or phone number in there, you'll get updated on any developments between now and next Wednesday, alongside snagging a free in-game reward.
Speaking about the upcoming Switch launch, Nick Fajt, CEO of Rec Room, said: “We’ve dreamed about this moment for years and are honoured to bring Rec Room to the Nintendo Switch.”
“Nintendo has played a big role in my lifelong love of video games, and I’m excited to be able to bring the fun and creativity of Rec Room to their platform.”
Rec Room has enjoyed over 100 million lifetime users, which is a staggering figure. Given that, I'm sure it'll do well on Switch, where the combination of portability and a larger screen than most phones should appeal to on-the-go players. That's assuming everything runs like clockwork, of course.

Of course, you don't have to wait until November 6th for the Switch version if you want to play right this second. Rec Room is already available on the App Store and Google Play, where it's free-to-play. You can download it for your preferred platform using the buttons below.
