The Pokémon Company is partnering with animation studio Aardman on a “special project” set for release in 2027.
Aardman is best known for its Wallace and Gromit franchise of animated films.
“The collaboration will see Aardman bringing its unique style of storytelling to the Pokémon universe in brand-new adventures,” according to today’s announcment.
It’s currently unclear if the project will be a film or a television series.
“This is a dream partnership for Pokémon,” said Taito Okiura, VP of marketing and media at The Pokémon Company International.
“Aardman are masters of their craft, and we have been blown away by their talent and creativity. What we have been working on together ensures our global Pokémon fans are in for a treat!”
