Small news, but big change
- Pokémon Go now lets you join Raids from your friends list
- If you're Great Friends or higher with someone, you can easily hop into a raid
- And if you're not looking to play with others, just opt out!
It's a slow news day over here at Pocket Gamer towers. Which is little surprise as we head into the end of the year, and many developers and publishers wind down for the Christmas break. But if you were hoping to hop into Pokémon Go over the holidays, especially with the numerous events that are coming soon, you'll be glad of this latest change!
Niantic has made a pretty minor but appreciable change, allowing you to jump into your friends list and easily see whether or not they're in a Raid, what boss they're facing and even head in to help them without needing an invite!
Again, a minor change, but now if you're Great Friends or a higher level of Friendship with another player, this makes it infinitely easier to join in and give them a helping hand. And don't worry, because if you'd rather go it alone you can opt out of this feature with a simple switch in settings.
Go your own way
You can check out the full nitty-gritty details on this change from the official Pokémon Go blog. But in short this is a pretty basic change, but one that's been a long time coming I'd wager. Being able to join in raids or other in-game events that your friends are involved in is a pretty basic modification, but one that indicates Niantic seem to be opening up a bit more to player feedback.
If you're thinking of jumping into Raids, or just starting a few with the hopes your friends can hop in, be sure to check out our list of Pokémon Go raids organised by dates for December 2024.
