Sony Interactive Entertainment has continued its celebrations for the PlayStation 30th Anniversary in one of the neatest ways possible: by offering PS5 customisable themes that harken back to previous PlayStation hardware.
The customisable themes come as part of a new PS5 update which features a boot up sequence reminiscent of the original PlayStation However, there’s an option for ‘Appearance and Sound’ that allows you to further customise your PS5 with themes based on the PS1, PS2, PS3, and PS4, although sadly only for a limited time.
If you take a look at your PS5 dashboard, depending on the theme you have chosen, you will see a representation of that console at the top of the screen. For example, using the PS1 theme showcases the front of the console with the ‘Power’ icon on the left and the ‘Open’ button on the right of the screen.
For a limited time, you can change parts of the PS5 design based on your favorite generation of PlayStation. Select a design to apply to your home screen and other areas.
