Nintendo Switch 2 Leak Points Towards 2025 Launch Window

1 day ago 35

It isn’t exactly uncommon for a console to take its final digitalized breath after seven long and fruitful years of churning out games, add-ons, and lavish silicone cosmetics. It also isn’t uncommon for fans to expect a new hybrid handheld console to grace the shelves after half a decade of slugging through the same vibrant boroughs of Hyrule thrice over, either. Suffice it to say, the tentatively titled Nintendo Switch 2 is more than likely a lot closer than we might’ve thought, and if what insiders are saying turns out to be true, then it could be that the second generation of the globally recognized handheld arrives as early as Q2 2025.

In a recent post made over on the /NintendoSwitch2 subreddit, user SwordfishAgile3472 decided to share several images of the latest Joy-Con controllers, claiming that they were of a Chinese SNS origin and, in short, descendent of the original source. Granted, as with anything that pops up on Reddit (or any form of communal archive, for that matter), it’s probably best to take these images with a slight pinch of salt. Having said that, with Nintendo effectively preparing to tease the outlines for its next handheld console, it seems as if there is some level of plausibility to the images in question.

Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Cons Leaked

On the subject of Joy-Cons, the images posted on the subreddit page clearly indicate that the original on-rail attachment will no longer be compatible; the latest version will seemingly support a magnetic field to support the console and, from what we’ve seen, make it easier to connect and adjust. Moreover, the new Joy-Cons will feature larger buttons (SL + SR) as well as sport a slick black and blue design, effectively removing the original blue and red blueprint.

Of course, you should continue to take all of this with a grain of salt — at least until the folks over at Nintendo decide to shed light on the matter. Can’t wait that long? You can find more information on X.
