A deific new challenge
- Kingdom: Two Crowns' newest DLC is out now on iOS and Android
- Call of Olympus sees you transported to a new Greek-inspired world
- Gain iconic Hellenic God's favour and build your kingdom
Kingdom: Two Crowns is something that I think of as being a bit of a Marmite game. You either love it or you hate it, and for my part, I do love it. There's nothing quite like the simple pleasure of raising a mighty town and raking in the gold to fight off the Greed. But I have to admit the pseudo-medieval setting can sometimes feel a bit samey, and that's where the newest DLC for Kingdom: Two Crowns comes in with the Hellenic-inspired Call of Olympus.
Whereas previous expansions like Shogun and Norse Lands concentrated on more familiar settings, Call of Olympus will take you to an entirely fresh, ancient Greek-inspired series of lands on a quest to free Mount Olympus.
You'll have all the familiar trappings of the Kingdom series, alongside new troops, such as hoplites and slingers, and indeed a brand new series of boons you can gain from iconic Greek gods. Just be wary, because it's not just you getting a power-up, the Greed are also back in force with mighty new monsters.
Get crowned
I certainly think that Call of Olympus looks like quite an exciting expansion. The Kingdom series has always been a favourite of mine for its simplicity and elegance, and just seeing new lands would have been enough for me. But the addition of brand new mechanics and new ways to take the fight to the Greed will be especially exciting for those who want a bit more depth. Just remember: Nothing lasts forever.
