Worth keeping in mind
If you've got an Xbox that's in need of repair (or at least a new part), you'll be glad to hear that Microsoft has partnered with iFixit to provide genuine parts for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, and these can be purchased right now.
Not everything that iFixit sells is a genuine part, but you'll see it clearly marked if it is - and the range includes the likes of motherboards, PSUs and fans. Here's what a company representative told The Verge earlier this week:
“We’re excited to be working with Microsoft to keep Xboxes running longer and out of the waste heap. We now offer official Microsoft parts and step-by-step repair guides for Xbox Series S and Series X, including both the all-digital and disk drive editions.”
As mentioned, you'll also find step-by-step repair guides that seem extremely helpful, so if you feel confident enough to break open your Xbox and attempt a fix (which FYI, could void any warranties), these should be used as a resource.
In terms of controllers, Microsoft does actually sell some genuine parts on the official Xbox website, but only in certain regions. If you're desperate for a new shell or replacement buttons, for example, this might come in handy!
