The starting point for the next 20/30 years
We've got a date for the new Football Manager, and it's once again coming to Xbox Game Pass!
Yes, Football Manager 25 will be available for Xbox and PC on November 26, 2024, and this year's version is particularly special as a massive revamp is being implemented - which includes transitioning to a brand-new game engine.
Sports Interactive says FM 25 marks the beginning of the next 20/30 years for the studio, with the Unity engine now offering the "biggest technical and visual advancement for the series in a generation". All kinds of new upgrades are being implemented, from a more graphically impressive matchday experience to a completely overhauled UI, as well as the addition of Women's Football for the first time. This is a huge year for Football Manager!
The team has made clear over the past few months that building Football Manager 2025 has been a tough process, which is the reason for the slightly delayed release this year. It's perhaps best not to expect perfection right out of the gate, but the studio will be hoping FM 25 serves as a great foundation for what's to come in the future.
Here's a bit more about what to expect from Football Manager 2025, courtesy of Sports Interactive's Miles Jacobson:
“As I’ve mentioned in interviews and development updates, the FM25 cycle has been challenging for the entire SI team.
FM25 is just the starting point for the studio’s next 20, 30 years. It’s also the point where the world gets to see two of our multi-year projects come to fruition: the switch to the Unity engine and the introduction of Women’s Football. It gives us a real sense of achievement to begin sharing our hard work with you and we're really looking forward to showing you more of the game in the weeks before the game’s release.”
