Edifier W830NB review - "Affordable with a great battery life"
  • Very comfortable
  • Great battery life
  • Good sound quality

Edifier are known for their headsets and earbuds, so seeing another affordable, sleek pair of wireless over-the-ear headphones, I was excited to try them out! The Edifier W830NB is an affordable option to take with you, providing a lot of battery life and good sound quality.

Edifier W830NB Looks

Edifier W830NB Headset

The headset itself is very sleek; there are a few different colours: grey, black, white and cream. All of them have a small logo above the earmuffs but are otherwise plain. The earmuffs do twist, so that you can easily collapse this headset and place them into a bag. They are adjustable, as you'd expect, for bigger heads and they have a good amount of padding on the very top. The same is true with the earmuffs - making them a comfortable, small headset. The entire thing feels very light and comfortable.

Buttons

On the right-hand side of the device, on the bottom of the earmuffs, there is a Bluetooth button so that you can connect to your phone, a pause button, and two volume buttons, along with the charging port. It's a USB-C port and the Edifier W830NB comes with a small cable that's USB-C to USB. You can use this port to wire your headphones into a device and use it that way too. The Bluetooth button is multifunctional, as you can press it to change through different noise-cancelling modes and sound modes using the button.

Battery Life

A lot of my deciding factors when it comes to headsets that are wireless is the battery life. The Edifier W830NB has an impressive 94-hour battery life with noise cancelling turned off and a 54-hour battery life if it's on. This is a really impressive amount of battery life and feels true to the box. The device doesn't take ages to charge either!

Edifier App

With most Edifier products, you can customize a lot of the sound you hear in their Edifier ConneX app. This device doesn't have a ton of different customization features behind noise cancellation options and sound modes. The sound quality is quite good even without changing anything, but the app does give you a bit of control here and there.

The Edifier W830NB is a lightweight, affordable over-ears headset with fantastic battery life! It's everything you'd expect from Edifier, though the headset could be more stylish and feel a little more durable.
