Best New Anime Series Coming in 2025

As we wrap up 2024, it is now time to look ahead to what’s next for anime in 2025. There aren’t a ton of confirmed anime series outside of the Winter 2025 season, so details are somewhat scarce about what the next year of anime looks like. That said, here are the best new anime series that we know for certain are coming in 2025 and when.

Best New Anime Series to Watch in 2025: My Happy Marriage Season 2

My Happy Marriage was my favorite anime series of 2023. Its first season instantly went up there with Fruits Basket as one of the best romance anime series of all time. It feels a lot like Violet Evergarden meets Fruits Basket, two of which are masterpieces. I need to see more of the romance between the tragic Miyo and her cold fiancé Kiyoka, but this has the makings of a modern classic.

Dr. Stone: Science Future

The next and possibly final season of Dr. Stone is almost here. Dr. Stone is up there as one of my favorite anime of all time. While this isn’t as welcoming as some of the other series on this list, now is the prime time to catch up in time for Season 4. This story follows a group of people who revive in a post-apocalyptic future after being petrified in the modern day.

Sakamoto Days

The Sakamoto Days manga is only a few years old at this point. However, it is already doing impressive numbers and for a good reason. In terms of action and heart, it has them in spades. And I fully expect the anime version to be the same. It follows a retired hitman who has to fight back to protect his family from old enemies.

Fate/Strange Fake

The first episode and prologue is already out right now for you to check out, which is unique for this particular series. The animation doesn’t quite have the level of quality of Ufotable’s take on the series, but the characters and setting seem intriguing. Given that this is a shadier version of the Holy Grail War, I am hyped to find out what is going to happen next. This is especially with some of the interesting Servants that have been summoned.
