Let the multiplayer madness begin

Athena Crisis' latest madcap mayhem lets you ruin someone's day and vice versa
  • Team up with friends to take on AI enemies
  • Take control of the main enemy AI
  • Join the campaign and just wreak havoc

Turn-based strategy game Athena Crisis is adding a little bit more multiplayer madness with the latest Invasions update, which ramps up the rowdiness across this retro-inspired title. In particular, Invasions tasks you with either lending your buddies a hand or sowing seeds of discord as you invade their campaigns and watch as the madcap mayhem begins.

In the latest update to Athena Crisis, you can look forward to duking it out against up to seven other players to spice up a regular campaign battle. Essentially, you'll be able to activate shiny crystals acquired in campaigns to invite a friend to join. While this might help you team up with your best buds online, it can also open up your campaign to other players with questionable intentions, raising the stakes of your regular single-player campaign.

When your world becomes open to Invasions, other players can dive in in a variety of ways. With the Valor Crystal, for instance, other players can team up with you to help you fight against AI and other players.

Meanwhile, the Command Crystal will allow someone else to take over the enemy AI. And finally, the Phantom Crystal lets players sneak into the campaign and mess it all up - they can even spawn some zombies just to ruin your day.
