Build your deck and destroy your rivals
- Arcane Rush Battlegrounds is a new card-building auto-battler, out now on iOS and Android
- It pits you against 16 other players in a battle-royalesque race to the finish
- Unique heroes affect your plan of attack and tactics
When it comes to card battlers, it seems that they're everywhere nowadays. Whether it's newbies like Balatro or elder statesmen such as Hearthstone, the humble card game has found a new renaissance in the digital age. And the latest game to throw its hat into the ring hopes to reinvent it with the addition of new, unusual mechanics.
Arcane Rush Battlegrounds, from developer Gear Games, puts a new twist on the card battler formula. You build your deck as usual, and auto-battling is of course not unique, but what is unusual is the battle royale-esque rush to the end as you craft the ideal set of cards to wipe out up to 16 opponents to be the last one standing.
Add onto that unique Heroes which can drastically change gameplay, and it's safe to say that Gear Games' Arcane Rush Battlegrounds seems to be putting an interesting twist on a well-explored genre. You can find it now on Google Play and the iOS App Store, available worldwide.
Enter the battleground
While I'm sure the format of Arcane Rush Battlegrounds will be a mixed bag for fans who prefer something a little slower and cerebral, I'm equally as sure that there will be plenty of players who relish a new, more high-octane take on the card-battling format. And with the game slowly gaining ground, who knows what the future might hold for this game?
