World of Warcraft is celebrating its 20th birthday in a number of ways, and it looks like one of them will be an upcoming Mountain Dew Game Fuel promotion that promises ways for players to earn some exclusive in-game items.

The promotion has not been officially announced just yet, but images shared on Reddit over the weekend (some of which have since been deleted) show that Game Fuel's Citrus Blackberry and Citrus Cherry flavors will soon be adorned with images of iconic WoW characters. Former Horde Warchief Thrall as well as the Lich King will be featured on the Citrus Cherry flavor, while the relatively newer villain, Xal'atath, and elven hero Alleria Windrunner can be seen on the Citrus Blackberry packaging.

Purchasing certain Mountain Dew products will earn players points that can be redeemed on the Mountain Dew Gaming Rewards marketplace. There aren't any WoW products up for grabs at the moment (though you can buy some Final Fantasy 14 items or an Elder Scrolls Online mount in the meantime), but fansite Wowhead has some clues as to what might eventually be available. Two datamined in-game motorcycle mounts seem to match the Game Fuel colors, and in their flavor text mention the bikes being "demonically fueled."

What other rewards will be available are still unknown, but hopefully an official announcement will be coming before too long. After all, it won't be the first time WoW and Game Fuel have joined forces. Back in 2009, Mountain Dew offered two limited-time Game Fuel flavors, Citrus Cherry (the original Game Fuel flavor that launched in 2007 alongside Halo 3) for the Horde and a new flavor, Wild Fruit, for the Alliance.

A Mountain Dew crossover is just the latest way Blizzard is bringing out all the stops for WoW's 20th anniversary. Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 have both featured WoW crossover skins, and WoW's next patch--releasing October 22--goes all-in on the anniversary. The massive anniversary update will reintroduce old raids and dungeons as well as give players the chance to earn updated versions of the game's iconic Tier 2 raid gear.
