UFL Has Launched In 'Early Access' On Xbox, And It's Pretty Fun So Far

If you're a fan of games like EA Sports FC 25 and eFootball, you'll surely be interested to know that a new competitor has arrived on Xbox this week in the form of UFL, and it'll even be transitioning to a free-to-play release next week!

The early access launch has gone very much under the radar so far, but it's available right now on Xbox Store - the catch being that you have to pay to play early. The lowest starting price is £12.49 / $14.99 for a package that includes seven days' worth of early access, some exclusive customisation items, an extra stadium, and 20m of in-game currency.

Here at Pure Xbox, we're busy working on a full review for UFL that should be live very soon, and we've played around 10 games so far. If you want our early review impressions, we'd say it's a fun and addictive Ultimate Team-like experience with excellent presentation and an enjoyable primary game mode. The downside is that there is only one proper game mode as things stand (which is entirely online-focused), and although the gameplay feels good in plenty of ways, it's certainly flawed in others - things like reactions, physicality and ball physics could all be improved.

In other words, don't expect greatness if you're planning to play UFL over the coming weeks, but despite its drawbacks, we're genuinely having a fun time with it right now. If you're interested, you can either jump in this weekend and pay your money to get started, or wait until Thursday, December 5th - that's when it goes free-to-play for everyone!

Here are some of the images we've captured from UFL on Xbox Series X over the past 24 hours:
