The World Ends With You: The Animation Gets Big Prime Discount

We've seen plenty of popular video games adapted into anime shows, but one that you might have missed is The World Ends With You. Based on the 2007 Nintendo DS game, The World Ends With You: The Animation made its anime debut a few years ago, and in case you missed it, there's a neat Prime Big Deals Day special on right now where you can get the Blu-ray for $37.50 (was $65).

Like the game, The World Ends With You follows the recently deceased protagonist Neku Sakuraba as he finds himself thrust into a video-game scenario in Shibuya called Reaper’s Game. Fighting for his life in a new plane of existence and with his memories scattered, Neku must compete in a contest to be brought back to life or risk being erased from existence.

The anime series stayed very close to the unique art direction of the game, and this Blu-ray contains all 12 episodes alongside clean credit sequences. The original game was ported over to Switch in 2018 under the new title of The World Ends with You: Final Remix, and it also received a sequel a few years later, NEO: The World Ends With You.

Another anime based on a video game to check out during Prime Day is Ace Attorney. This is based on the Capcom legal-drama series, and the first season sees fledgling defense attorney Phoenix Wright take on an impossible case in order to prove his client's innocence. Normally $35, you can grab it for $23 right now.
