Walk a mile in another man's shoes
- The Stanley Parable is a game
- And now you can get the UItra Deluxe version of this game on mobile
- You can enjoy it, or not, the choice is yours
The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe edition is finally making its way to mobile. "But wait-", you might ask, "-why should I care about a game where I just walk from place to place while listening to narration?" Well, that's a good question, so let's answer it.
The Stanley Parable is a narrative-driven game, more than that it's a game driven by discovering new and unexpected twists on the story. You play as Stanley, a regular employee at some sort of company who one day decides (or decides not to) get up from his desk and begin exploring his workplace.
What follows is a sequence of nightmarish, fantastical, romantic, hilarious or just plain bizarre events. Follow the narrator's directions on a journey of self-discovery, take your own path (and find out you didn't have a choice all along) or just explore the depths of the office and discover all the weird unknowns. The choice is, quite literally, yours.
Funny, innit?
The Stanley Parable is one of those games that is, in my opinion quite rightly, in the pantheon of modern video game classics. It's as simple as a game can get, and yet utterly enthralling. And while it can probably run on just about anything nowadays, being able to take this strange and intriguing adventure around in your pocket is just as enticing as it sounds.
But if The Stanley Parable is a bit much for you, then you can always retreat to a few of the more conventional games that have come out this year. Conveniently, we've even ranked them on our list of the best mobile games of 2024 (so far)!
And if that's not enough, you can always dig into our other list of the top 25 free-to-play games on iOS and Android for even more options!
