The story of Geralt and Ciri has been told through many mediums, from the original novels by Andrzej Sapkowski to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and the Netflix adaptation. Now we can add another take on that found-family father/daughter dynamic, this time expressed through a collection of adorable comics by Giana Carboni.

The Little Witcher is a children’s book set in the CD Projekt Red canon. The pre-order listing notes that it’ll be perfect for both ‘The Witcher fans raising little Ciris of their own” and “The Witcher fans looking to spend more time in Kaer Morhen.

The premise of the book is that Ciri is training to be a witcher at the stronghold of Kaer Morhen, where she learns the skills to survive the dangerous life of a monster hunter. She also manages to fit in time bonding with her adoptive dad Geralt or hanging out with Yennefer or Vesemir.

With help from Geralt and Ciri’s closest companions—including the motherly magic of Yennefer of Vengerberg and the wisdom of uncle Vesemir—these adorable tales of a non-traditional family will make you laugh, make you sigh, and make you realize that raising a Little Witcher is not that different from raising any other kid. Sure, bedtime stories might include warnings of monsters who fart when surprised, and Geralt might invoke the Witcher Code to get Ciri to brush her teeth or clean her room, but even the formidable White Wolf knows to surrender when it comes to bedtime battles or Afternoon Tea with the toys.

CD Projekt Red’s take on the Witcher lore through its games have been widely acclaimed by fans and critics. In 2022, CD Projekt Red began to ramp up development on the franchise in preparation for a “new saga.” This includes a new trilogy of games; the first one is being developed under the codename Polaris. We know a few things about Polaris, but not enough to make any real predictions.

The book is now available for pre-order on Amazon for $16, with an expected release of May 13, 2025.
