The Game Awards Keeps On Getting More and More Popular

There'll come a time when The Game Awards eventually reaches its peak viewership and flattens out, but 2025 won't go down as that year: the show has once again recorded an increase in viewership over 2024.

Last week's ceremony attracted "an estimated 171 million global livestreams of the full broadcast", which represents an 11% increase over 2024, which had 154 million live viewers. YouTube and Twitch both recorded increases in viewership on their platforms, and voting for the awards was also up 10%.

On a global scale, a portion of the increased viewership is attributed to livestreams on platforms in China, where it was shown on more platforms than ever before. The 171 million viewership figure also doesn't include any livestreams from the Amazon Prime platform, which was showing the ceremony for the first time.
