XR Games, the studio behind Hitman 3 VR: Reloaded and the upcoming Starship Troopers Continuum, is reportedly set to lay off nearly all of its staff after the game’s poor reception.
According to the studio’s former head of production on LinkedIn, XR Games is letting go of 72 members of staff out of a total of 84, leaving behind a skeleton crew. A number of positions look set to be hit by redundancies, such as artists, programmers, project management, production, game design and IT.
One staff member wrote: “This goes beyond restructuring. I’ll keep my thoughts and observations to myself. Today, my focus is on helping those affected.”
