But the team also feels great about Starfield's future
It's been over a year now since Starfield became arguably the biggest first-party launch of the entire Xbox Series X|S era, and obviously we've seen the arrival of the first major expansion (Shattered Space) this month as well.
As a result, Bethesda has been talking to various outlets about the game's journey so far, and a specific answer to a question about what the team has learned from the experience has been getting a lot of attention on social media. The quote comes from an interview with GamesRadar, which you can see below:
"Speaking with design director Emil Pagliarulo, I ask what the development of Starfield has taught Bethesda that he thinks it'll carry onto future projects. His response? 'Fans really, really, really want The Elder Scrolls 6'."
Beyond this though, Emil Pagliarulo says that he feels great about Starfield's future, both in terms of official content that's planned, as well as the "insane" and "inspiring" mod creations that are developing at a faster rate than expected.
In fact, he even believes that Starfield is the "best game we've ever made" in some ways, as well as the hardest project the company has ever embarked upon. He mentions how the technical challenges of creating such a massive space RPG on Xbox were significant, and remains proud of the ambition to "make something totally different".
So yeah, The Elder Scrolls 6 is very much in mind, but clearly there's a lot of love for Starfield inside Bethesda!
