“We’re still in the development stages of Skate and are bringing insiders like you into the game much sooner than is the norm in our industry”, according to an official FAQ.
“We’re incredibly passionate about skate. and want to ensure we’re building the best possible game, and that’s why we want you playing and providing valued feedback ahead of a worldwide launch.”
Skate was revealed in June 2020 in a surprise announcement which broke EA’s Twitter engagement record.
The free-to-play game is the debut title from Full Circle, a Vancouver-based EA studio headed up by former Xbox Live general manager Daniel McCulloch, who spent 15 years with Microsoft’s gaming business before departing in 2020.
Set for release in early access this year, Skate will support cross-play and cross-progression on PC and consoles.
A mobile version is also “still in development and part of our future plans for the game”, according to EA.
