"Furthermore, this fiscal year is themed 'Fearless: Year of Shadow'"

Sonic X Shadow Generations is sustaining a shockingly brisk pace and has just passed another impressive sales milestone. We imagine SEGA is pretty chuffed: more than two million copies have been sold, with a million additional sales following the game's launch window in October 2024.
The secret to this unusual success is familiar and attributed to the industry's elusive white whale: the transmedia effect. In a press release (thanks, Gematsu) that shows the seriousness of the industry, SEGA, seemingly drunk on victory, proclaimed: "To grow the Sonic intellectual property further, we have focused on transmedia development as an important strategy involving global expansion across various media verticals and merchandising. Furthermore, this fiscal year is themed “Fearless: Year of Shadow” for the Sonic intellectual property, focusing on global initiatives highlighting Shadow."
The apparently quite fun Sonic the Hedgehog 3 just grossed $425 million in December, up from $405 million with the previous film. With seemingly more profits on the horizon, we can see why the persistent publisher/developer would be pleased. The release continues: "In addition to this game, the mobile game Sonic Rumble is scheduled to be released. We will work to raise awareness of Sonic's intellectual property further and expand the brand."
