Less than two days after launch, GSC Game World’s S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl has sold one million copies. The developer also confirmed that “many more Stalkers” have joined the hunt through Game Pass.

The sandbox shooter had a strong start on Steam, with over 113,000 concurrent players. It’s since peaked at 117,928 players at this time of writing and should see further increases over the weekend. Unfortunately, despite relatively good reviews, there have been several bugs and issues.

GSC Game World is aware of this and is presently working on hotfixes for “critical issues.” Other, more significant patches will arrive later, and the developer plans to reveal a roadmap next month for post-launch content, including free updates. Two paid story expansions are in the works, so perhaps we’ll learn more about their release dates.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is available for Xbox Series X/S and PC. Check out our review here – we gave it a nine out of ten, praising the visuals, choices and their impact on the world, and gameplay while criticizing some rough voice acting and technical issues.

No wonder it feels a bit crowdy in the Zone. A million copies were sold, and much more stalkers joined the artifact hunt with Game Pass.

This is just the start of our unforgettable adventure. The Heart of Chornobyl emanates stronger with each of us.

Thank You, stalkers! ☢️ pic.twitter.com/zslF7I8vR1
