Book your latest vacation to Raccoon City
- Hot off the heels of the release of Resident Evil 8 on iOS, Resident Evil 2 is now available for pre-order
- Explore Raccoon City as either rookie cop Leon Kennedy, or Claire Redfield as she searches for her brother
- Uncover a conspiracy that threatens to destroy the already-doomed Raccoon City
With the release of Resident Evil 8 on iOS, there was much said about the rather shallow impression the game left. However, for those of you who did manage to get a hold of it, and are eager for more you'll be glad to know Capcom isn't leaving you high and dry as Resident Evil 2 REmake is now available for pre-order.
Set in the doomed metropolis of Raccoon City, you play either rookie cop Leon S. Kennedy or young biker Claire Redfield as they try to escape the city while uncovering a dangerous conspiracy that threatens to spread countrywide. The game is slated to release sometime in late December 2024.
Alongside Assassin's Creed Mirage, both Resident Evil 7 and 8 received iOS ports to take advantage of Apple's newest devices and their capabilities. While they did receive lacklustre sales they're still a surprising technological achievement, and for those not yet lucky enough to enjoy it, Resident Evil 2 for iOS promises even more gut-wrenching survival horror in the palm of your hand.
Zombies, lickers and tyrants, oh my
I definitely did go to bat for Resident Evil on iOS, although I'll admit part of that is my thinking that a few more years down the line there'll be Apple devices that'll be able to run it even better than the current, slightly shaky phones. Admittedly, being an Android guy, that's not really going to benefit me, but anything that gets more people into the often campy and always terrifying Resi series is okay with me.
But if you're not convinced, aren't on iOS or simply had your fill of survival horror, why not tackle some of the games on our list of the best mobile titles of 2024 (so far) instead?
