Tekken 3 hits PS5 for the first time thanks to PlayStation Plus
Image: Ballistic Moon, Supermassive Games/Sony Interactive EntertainmentSpooky season is here, and PlayStation fans are thriving. That’s especially true for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers, who are getting access to some excellent horror titles as Halloween approaches. On Wednesday, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced the collection of games coming to the Extra and Premium tiers of PlayStation Plus, and they’re pretty exciting — including the not scary but very good Tekken 3.
This month will see remakes of the games Silent Hill 2 and Until Dawn, as well as the creepy, toy-centric horror puzzle game Poppy Playtime, added to the Extra tier, just in time for the celebration of the macabre. This is quite a month for Poppy Playtime, as the game is also part of this year’s Fortnitemares event, which will see themed cosmetics added to Fortnite.
Until Dawn was first released back in 2014 on PlayStation 4. It’s an interactive survival horror title in the style of 1980s slasher films. You play as a group of teens alone in the woods, trying to figure out what is killing them off one by one. Who survives is up to you, as the choices you make in the game propel the plot forward. The game was re-released in remastered form in 2024.
It’s been 24 years since Silent Hill 2 was first released on PlayStation 2 and Xbox, but it remains one of the best horror games of all time. Last year it got a remake on PlayStation 5, and that updated version will be available to those with PS Plus' Extra tier and above.
On the less scary front, RPG favorite Yakuza: Like a Dragon is coming to the Extra tier, along with twin-stick shooter Wizard with a Gun. Meanwhile, V Rising, the vampire-centric action-RPG title from last year, is also coming. Given this is the month we will also finally be getting Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 means there’s a lot of blood-sucking content to sink your teeth into in October.
Finally, As Dusk Falls, a former Xbox exclusive released in 2022 and added to PS5 last year, will land on the Extra tier. From indie studio Interior Night, As Dusk Falls is a narrative-driven adventure game, not unlike Until Dawn. Instead of a slasher horror story, though, it’s a largely dialogue-driven tale of two families embroiled in a hostage situation.

Tekken 3, the fighting game first released in arcades in 1997 before being ported to the original PlayStation in 1998, will join the lineup, marking its first appearance on PS5. This version features up-rendering and the ability to capture clips.
These games join the previously announced October titles for the Essential tier of PS Plus, which include games like Alan Wake 2 and Goat Simulator 3.
