Coming to Outernet London
- Pokémon Go is set to hold a new interactive pop-up event
- This event will celebrate the release of the Pokémon TCG Pocket
- Fans visiting Outernet London can open digital card packs
Fans of the various Pokémon games on mobile can celebrate for good reason this month, and that's because not only has the hotly-anticipated TCG Pocket released (and found huge success) but the folks are Pokemon Go is also set to celebrate said the release. A new interactive experience at Outernet London is happening from November 9th to 10th and will be accompanied by special temporary Pokéstops.
Outernet London is a massive events space that tends to focus on unusual and innovative digitally-backed experiences. Essentially this is where all the weird and wonderful stuff that requires large spaces and lots of technology tends to congregate in the UK's biggest city.
Fans of Pokémon Go will be able to open up booster packs for Pokémon TCG Pocket on a giant immersive screen, spin special Pokéstops around the event space, and discover different rarities of Pikachu that'll be hanging around the area.
Doon London toon
This event I'm sure will be great for those currently living in London, but for the rest of us, it may be a bit too much of a trip just to experience it, no matter how impressive it might look. However, as I observed in my other piece on the recent surge in downloads that Pokémon TCG Pocket has seen since launch, I'm definitely getting the sense that Pokémon are finally seeing the potential in mobile, and linking their different games together indirectly. Who knows? Maybe we might see an official release of some of the main series entries on mobile too.
