Persona 6 Details

Additional details on Persona 6 have emerged via the game's listing on the Xbox store.

Which is nice, because the game's teaser trailer basically told us nothing about anything.

To be fair, the title's official description doesn't offer up any real surprises, but it does confirm a few things.

For starters, Persona 6 is once again plopping us in the shoes of a school student in Japan. So if you were hoping that the series would finally move away from teenage characters, you're out of luck.

Much like its predecessors, the game will be split between living a relatively normal life as a student, and exploring the supernatural, out of public sight.

You'll need to establish bonds with your friends to empower your persona's abilities, so it sounds like the series' trademark gameplay structure remains in place.

Here's the description in full:

Persona 6 brings everything beloved about the series into a bold new story. The signature blend of heartfelt daily life and pulse-pounding supernatural adventure returns, wrapped around a completely fresh, standalone story and new cast of characters. Whether you've been with the series since the beginning or this is your very first Persona experience, you belong here.

Unleash Your Persona. Forge Unbreakable Bonds.
Awaken the power of Persona, a manifestation of your innermost self, and discover others who share this extraordinary ability. Every relationship you nurture makes you stronger. Every bond you forge becomes a weapon against the darkness lurking within.

Live a Double Life in Modern-Day Japan.
Navigate the rhythms of everyday school life and build friendships, pursue romance, and cultivate memories that matter. But beneath the surface of familiar streets and quiet neighborhoods lies something darker: strange rumors, unsettling urban legends, and occult incidents that only you and your closest allies can face.

The aforementioned teaser trailer did attempt to set a rather dark tone, and there's something about the logo's shade of green that makes me think... horror, or at least spooky. Maybe the main characters are all part of a ghost-hunting club?
