Nintendo's official Black Friday deals have arrived alongside two very welcome surprises: $75 discounts on the Nintendo Switch OLED and Nintendo Switch holiday bundles at Target and Best Buy. Both bundles include Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and a 12-Month Switch Online membership. The Switch OLED Mario Kart bundle is available for only $275, while the regular Switch Mario Kart bundle is down to $225.

The bundles are part of Best Buy's latest round of Doorbuster deals. At Target, the $75 discount will show up after you add the deal to your cart.

As such, we wouldn't be surprised to see both retailers sell out soon.

You can use your savings on the console to pick up a steeply discounted game or extra controller. Along with this unprecedented pair of console deals, the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller and Neon Red/Blue Joy-Con Controller Set have received their biggest discounts yet. You're getting $80 worth of additional content compared to buying the console ($350), Mario Kart ($60), and Switch Online ($20) individually. Along with the sharp, larger OLED screen, you're getting numerous quality-of-life upgrades compared to the base model. The Switch OLED has a wider, better-designed dock with an ethernet port, improved speakers, and double the internal storage space (64GB). Plus, the built-in kickstand is significantly improved for tabletop mode.

Nintendo Switch Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Bundle

The base model Switch for $225 would be a fantastic deal even without any extras, but you also get a voucher for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and a 12-Month Nintendo Switch Online membership. This is a truly phenomenal deal.

It comes with a pair of Neon Red and Blue Joy-Con Controllers, Joy-Con Grip and wrist straps, docking station, HDMI cable, and AC adapter.

If you think you'll spend a lot of time playing in handheld mode, the OLED is well-worth the extra $50 for the better screen. But for those who play more on their TV and tend to leave the Switch in the dock, opting for the regular Switch probably makes more sense.

This discounted Switch bundle is also available at Target and Best Buy, and it remains to be seen if other retailers will have matching offers.

As for the included game code, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the top-selling Switch game of all time--though this record does include previous console bundles. First released on the Wii U and then later ported to Switch, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has greatly expanded over the years with a series of DLC tracks. If you're buying the console bundle as a gift, we'd recommend picking up the Booster Course Pass for $25, as this adds 48 tracks to the game, effectively doubling its size.

The 12-month subscription to Switch Online also broadens your gaming options, as it lets you access online multiplayer, store game save data online, and unlocks a growing library of NES, SNES, and Game Boy games. While details on the Switch successor are expected to be revealed by next year, there are still plenty of exciting games coming to current Switch consoles throughout the rest of 2024 and next year.

If you're interested in the smaller, portable-only Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo released the new Hyrule Edition handheld alongside The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom on September 26.
