In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you can gather equipment beloved by heroes of the past. Sometimes, those heroes are your direct ancestors. Sometimes, they’re heroes who battled evil and sacrificed everything. Typically, if you can find gear they left behind, it’s going to be very useful. Here is our guide on where to get the Van Medoh Divine Helm in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom – where to get the Vah Medoh Divine Helm

The Vah Medoh Divine Helm is one of several divine helms available in the game. We previously covered the location of another such helm in our guide telling how to get the treasure at Lizard Lakes.

To get the Vah Medoh Divine Helm, you’ll need to explore a cave in the Hebra Mountains region. Although the helmet provides protection from the cold, you must brave such elements to find it. Therefore, you should probably wear two pieces of the Snowquill armor set, or bring along some elixir to maintain your body temperature.

You will find the Van Medoh Divine Helm deep inside the North Biron Snowshelf Cave. The cave’s precise location is reflected in the above screenshot. It’s not too terribly far from Rospro Pass Skyview Tower.

Make sure you have Arrows and Fire Fruit and then travel to the cave’s location. You should find a huge hunk of ice near the side of a cliff, which you need to burn away with fire of some sort. I used shots from a bow, and it took me 12 arrows to eliminate the ice barrier completely. Removing the obstacle allows you to enter the cave, where you need to solve a puzzle.

As you head into the cave, you’ll descend past walls of ice to reach some rubble near the base of the corridor. Fuse a Bomb Flower (there’s one growing along the path) to an arrow and fire it to eliminate the rock flooring. Drop through and then drop toward the bottom of the vertical chamber. Open your paraglider before you land, but not too early. Gusts of air blow from the center of the platform.

Once you have landed safely on that platform, look around. To one side, you’ll find a wooden chest that holds Arrow (5). Collect that and then inspect the nearby walls. You should find Bomb Flowers growing on some of them, which you can grab if your supply is short. Then head to the center of the platform.

Jump into the air and open your paraglider, which lets you rise toward the hole in the ceiling. While floating at that level, prime your bow. Look along the wall to spot several weak rock walls. Then fuse Arrows with Bomb Flowers and blast away those rocks. Don’t get too close and hurt yourself in the blast. If you hit the right targets, you’ll cause water to flood the chamber. Hit the wrong ones and you’ll produce Ice Keese enemies. Once you produce three waterfalls, the water level rises sufficiently that the statue at the base of the chamber moves.

Descend to the lower level (make sure to open your paraglider as you fall, because the game doesn’t do that on your behalf). Enter the chamber and open the chest to claim the Vah Medoh Divine Helm. The water at the base of this area also slowly heals you if you stand or swim in it, so keep that in mind if you’re running low on life.

Before you leave, look up at the ceiling at the very top of the area. The cave’s frog is waiting there. Float up so that you’re near its level and shoot it down with your bow. Then collect the Bubbul Gem it drops in the water.
