Palworld: Everything We Know

10 months ago 89

Palworld is an upcoming survival game with a rather interesting premise. It is especially considering that the cute and cuddly world of creature capture games seems, at first, quite far from the somewhat gritty survival genre. This game takes the adorable mascot characters of games like Pokemon and allows them to get into gunfights with one another. Now, from the outset, this appears to be quite the juxtaposition, having these cuddly creatures engage in such harsh combat. But it is precisely this that makes the premise of Palworld appear so interesting. There has been an outpouring of support and information about the game. This is great to see, especially for an upcoming release. And we hope to bring you some of that information all in one concise article. So if you, like us, have been looking forward to Palworld. Then Please enjoy Palworld: Everything We Know

What is Palworld

As was alluded to above, Palworld is a creature capture game inspired by the Pokemon series. However, this takes on quite an identity of its own rather quickly. Creatures are able to wield weapons of various types and battle one another across massive landscapes. This is great, as it allows players who enjoy the gameplay of Pokemon games to jump in and those who are fans of fast-paced action to enjoy themselves as well.

The game manages to accomplish this in a few ways. Also, the game has excellent survival and crafting systems, allowing players to put their own spin on traditional gameplay. There is also an emphasis on exploration in the game, which feels great, and hopes to encourage players to seek out different treasures and secrets along their journey. Players can even create gardens to feed their Pals and much more. There are also spaces in which to create weapons and participate in many more activities within Palworld. It will be super exciting to learn more about the game as we edge closer to its January 2024 release.

Story

Palworld seems so far to be rather light in the story department. But, the topics that are present definitely leave room for the developers to build upon them. This is great as it allows the game to be very casual-friendly while also having some cards it could play if it wants to. With the base game, it appears that they wish to tell a story about poachers in the land of Palworld. And players will have to thwart these would-be poachers. This automatically gives players an enemy to fight against and rally their Pals toward, which is great.

All in all, while it might not be the deepest story ever told or anything. What appears to be present here is certainly serviceable for the narrative. Having an emphasis on exploration in the game also means that it seems that players will be able to forge their own paths in this game as well. This is great and is certain to add to the replayability of this title moving forward. So, if you, like us, are looking forward to learning more about Palworld, continue on.

Gameplay

The gameplay for Palworld appears to be rather interesting. We see that players will be able to team up with friends and take down fearsome large creatures with a variety of methods. This is great and allows the player to play the game in a varied way. This is sure to go a long way in assisting the game from feeling too samey. Added to this is the fact that there will be dungeon content for players to run through.

This dungeon content appears to want to shake up the game and give players multiple paths to progression in the game. This is wonderful and is sure to find its own niche sub-community within the larger Palworld sphere. As mentioned above, players will be able o craft, battle, and farm their way through the game to their hearts' content. This is great for player choice and allows them to enjoy the game in a multitude of ways.

Additionally, it appears that players will be able to traverse all types of lands. This means the game likely will have multiple biomes to explore and become a part of. Players can farm in order to create crops, which can either help their Pals or simply make them a ton of money in the game. This is also a relatively freeing concept and allows the p[laeyr to make their own fun out of the game as well.

Development

The development for Palworld appears to be coming along smoothly. And the developers are shooting for an Early Access Steam release on January 2024. This means that eager players will not have much longer to wait on this promising title.

Trailer

There has been a multitude of trailers released for Palworld, with the most recent of these being the trailer at Summer Game Fest 2023. In this trailer, we see the creature capture mechanics, as well as quite a bit of the open world and exploration elements of the game. Players who are able to amass an army of Pals are even able to automate systems with their power. We also see what appears to be multiple player characters flying together. This, again, hints at the cooperative style of gameplay that is going to be present in the game.

Another element of the game that we see are boss enemies. These are shown with large health bars and appear to be rather difficult to take down. This is great, as it means players will likely have to team up in order to accomplish this. To close, the Palworld trailer revealed quite a bit of information about the game without giving away too much prior to release. This is great and only shows the beginnings of what we are sure will be a bright future for the game.

Release Date, Platforms & Editions

As far as a release date, the closest thing we are able to have is a Steam Early Access release. The release date for that will be in January 2024. Beyond that, however, there isn't too much information to speak of. As far as platforms go, Palworld has no plans to release on console as of yet. This gives the developers plenty of time to plan ahead of any console releases.
