New details about an unannounced but anticipated Hot Wheels Unleashed sequel have seemingly leaked.

Last month, images of a toy car featuring a ‘Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 Turbocharged’ logo surfaced online, alongside claims that the model will be a GameStop exclusive.

According to a new report from dataminer billbil-kun, who has an excellent track record of product leaks, the name of sequel is accurate and the game will be published by Milestone in the near future.

They claim it will be available in three editions (Standard, Deluxe and Legendary), with the pricier versions including varying levels of access to planned Season Pass content.

Developed and published by Milestone, Hot Wheels Unleashed was released in September 2021 for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

Plans for a sequel may not be too surprising given that the original is “the most successful title in Milestone history”, according to a March 2023 press release from the games company and toy firm Mattel.

They said Hot Wheels Unleashed had sold over two million copies in a year and a half and had attracted more than eight million players across all platforms including Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus.

“We are always excited to find great partners that help us bring Mattel’s brands to fans in all-new ways,” said Mike DeLaet, Mattel’s global head of digital gaming. “Milestone has done a phenomenal job with Hot Wheels Unleashed, and we’re thrilled that the Hot Wheels community has loved the game as much as we loved creating it.”

Milestone CEO Luisa Bixio added: “Hot Wheels boasts one of the most engaged and passionate fan bases of any brand in the world. We’re proud that Mattel trusted us to bring the brand to life in Hot Wheels Unleashed, and so pleased with how consumers have responded.”
