There are a plethora of tough and unique enemies you’ll come across while adventuring throughout Hyrule. In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, some of these enemies will be boss fights, such as the Battle Talus. This is a specific type of Talus boss that will have Bokoblin enemies riding it, as well as a treasure chest once defeated. But where are all these giant stone bosses? We’ll explain how to find and beat all Battle Talus in Tears of the Kingdom.

All Battle Talus locations in TOTK

There are quite a few Battle Talus scattered across Hyrule’s surface, and even the Depths. Normally, when you stumble upon one, it’ll seem like an average Bokoblin camp. The Talus will start hiding in the ground, and once they take notice of Link, they’ll raise from the ground and attack. Also, the Bokoblin on top will start firing arrows at you. If you’re looking to farm some Stone Talus Hearts, or general loot, here are the locations of all the Battle Talus that we know of.

How to beat Battle Talus in TOTk

Now that you know where to find all the Battle Talus in Tears of the Kingdom, what about beating them? Well, there are some tips that you need to know when coming face-to-face with this foe. First, it’s important to try and get rid of the Bokoblin on top first. They shouldn’t be too difficult to shoot off with a bow. Usually, a hit to the head will stun them, and knock them off the Talus.

Once that’s done, you can focus on the big guy. There are a few tricks you can perform when trying to beat it. See the black shiny stone on its back? That’s the weak point. You can most certainly shoot it from afar, but that’s a waste of arrows. Instead, I recommend two ways of getting on top of it.

One interesting maneuver is using your Recall ability. Sometimes, the Battle Talus will try to throw boulders at you. These will sting, so to avoid them, hit Recall at the right time before it hits you. This will pause time, giving you the opportunity to Recall the boulder, making it hit the Battle Talus back in its face. Now that it’s stunned, you can climb up to the top of it.

What if I told you there was another way of getting on top of it without climbing? That can take time, and sometimes the Battle Talus will throw you off. Instead, either when it’s stunned or not, run under the wooden structure on its head and Ascend on top of it. This method is the easiest and quickest way to get near the weak point.

Now that you’re on top, hack away at the stone, and eventually it will break, killing the Battle Talus. Depending on how tough it is, it may take a few tries, but eventually it will die, dropping a Stone Talus Heart and other goodies. Also, these Battle Talus leave behind a treasure chest with even more rewards.
