In GTA San Andreas you could walk into a pizzeria and have a full meal for $8. In GTA 5 there’s not that much left of that but you can still buy and eat snacks that will regenerate health and might save your life in a tough moment.

There are a few ways to eat snacks in GTA 5. Whenever you buy a snack it will go straight to your inventory that you can access through the Interaction Menu.

To eat snacks through the Interaction Menu:

1. Open the Interaction Menu (“M” by default on PC)
2. Scroll down to Inventory
3. Select Snacks
4. Choose the snack you want to eat

After that, your character will pull out a snack out of thin air and eat it regenerating some of your health. You have to press a lot of buttons so here’s a shorter method to eat snacks using the weapon wheel that you use to change weapons.

To eat snacks through the weapon wheel:

1. Open the weapon wheel (mouse wheel by default on PC)
2. In the top left you will see a keybind to quickly eat a snack

The issue with this method is that by default, that key will have something else binded to it as well, whether you are on the ground or in a vehicle. That can cause a bit of a mess by doing multiple commands with a single press. Check the settings and make sure that nothing conflicts with that keybind.

A cool trick for you to know: If you have a gun out, the animation of eating a snack will not play saving you a ton of time. This comes in especially useful when you are in a middle of a 1v1 fight and taking cover.

How to Get Snacks in GTA 5

The easiest way to get snacks is in the convenience store. There are a ton of them on the map marked with a shopping basket icon and they are open 24/7. Pull up to one of them, walk in, and talk to a cashier. All stores will have the same assortment of snacks available but the stock can vary.

If you have an office or any sort of facility with an assistant, you can go over there and get snacks from her (or him). In the office, the assistant will sit right at the front. Come up and interact to see what you can do.

The snacks from the assistant are also free compared to the store. You get unlimited snacks for free, forever! Not that the $50 saved on snacks will help you in any way, but still.

There are quite a few snacks in the game but only a few will be actually useful for you in combat. Even more, some snacks will be bad for you. For example, Pissswaser and Pack of Redwood will lower your in-game stats.
