Do CS:GO Items Transfer to Counter-Strike 2?

11 months ago 78

Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) was officially announced as a free upgrade to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) and it left a lot of players concerned about their existing inventories. Some players have spent years collecting skins in CS:GO and sometimes the cosmetics can fetch massive amounts of money. Here’s what you need to know about CS:GO items transferring over to Counter-Strike 2.

All your CS:GO items will be available in Counter-Strike 2

When Valve announced Counter-Strike 2, it revealed that all CS:GO items will be transferred over to Counter-Strike 2 and you do not have to worry about losing any items. With CS2 being a direct upgrade for existing CS:GO players, you don’t have to worry about manually transferring your items. When the game releases, all of your items will automatically be classified under Counter-Strike 2 in the Steam Marketplace.

The marketplace prices of the skins should not change much with the release of Counter-Strike but Valve has not revealed any details about CS2’s monetization yet. If you want to keep track of what your inventory is worth before CS:GO transitions to CS2, here’s what you need to do:

Check your CS:GO/Counter-Strike 2 inventory value

  1. Launch Steam and click on your username (next to the Community tab)

  2. Click on Inventory

  3. Browse through all of your CS:GO/CS2 items and check their current marketplace values

  4. You will need to go through all of your items and total the amount

  5. While there are third-party tools that can automate this process, we do not recommend linking third-party apps to Steam unless it’s from a verified publisher.

Check how much you have spent on CS:GO/Counter-Strike 2 skins

  2. Click on Inventory

  3. Browse through your inventory and click on any CS:GO/CS2 badge that you own and click on “View Badge progress.”

  4. Your badge collection will now be displayed. Head to the top right corner and click on the “How do I earn drops?” button.

  5. A pop-up will show up and reveal how many card drops you have earned or received. And it will also reveal how much money you have spent on CS:GO/CS2  so far.
